This collection was created during the covid lockdown period at a beach house on the Eastern coast of South Africa.
I became aware of a shift on the planet, almost as if our society’s structures and ideologies are moving and merging to shape a new realm. As if there is a cosmic force at play, age-old conspiracies at work, the existence of the human race and our planet at stake. This esoteric-thought process found expression in the photographic assemblages I created, using images I captured on the beach and surroundings.
I playfully combined it with photos that I took years ago in the Richtersveld, as well as experimental images that were created with a toy kaleidoscope. Somehow, I was driven by a sublime energy that created a biomimicry world in a quest for order’.
